We like to see all newborns after they have left the hospital in 2-3 days. At this time your breast milk should be coming and the immune-rich colostrum ends.  We will check that your bundle of joy has not lost weight from the time of their discharge from the nursery,  Many times the baby is jaundiced, more so if breastfeeding, and it is essential that the stools are changing from black tarry to yellow mushy, If you are formula feeding, don't worry your baby needs calories to grow and all calories are good for growth. 

The first three months are a significant change for the parents and the baby. So we want to hear from you often and have a dedicated NEWBORN HOTLINE AND TEXT open every morning. We want to hear from you and see you often. It's our relationship and community that make us stronger through this wonderful journey. 

We will check to see if the baby is back to birth weight, and how the feeding and sleeping are going. This is a great time to answer your questions and concerns. 

We will again talk about weight, head circumference, and how mom is feeling as many mothers experience anxiety or the baby blues and we need the parents to be well to help us raise healthy children. Also, the second shot or vaccine against cancer is given at this appointment. Currently, we have the opportunity to give two vaccines against cancer Hep B and HPV which are given at 9 years of age. 

We will have a chance to celebrate that the baby is on its way to new adventures and start the infant series of vaccines that save so many children from being sick, hospitalized, or worse.
